Inspector - UT

Job Summary:

A challenging and exciting career is waiting for you at General Dynamics Electric Boat. We are seeking an Entry Level UT Inspector to join our team. As a UT Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting various areas of the submarine, including structural and piping components. You will also be required to obtain both UT Level I and UT Level II certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect ultrasonic welds, parts, and components in various areas of the submarine
Obtain and maintain UT Level I and UT Level II certifications
Verify and certify work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications
Record and report inspection results

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of previous shipyard or similar manufacturing experience or UT Inspection
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Applicant must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams, and understand basic layout functions
Must be able to work all shifts, heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperature conditions as required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
Must be able to obtain and maintain Level I and Level II UT certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous UT experience
Current or previous certification as Level I/II UT Shear Wave
Shipyard experience
Military/Navy experience
Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical, and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs

Must possess basic mathematical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
