Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication Department, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept development through test, mentoring junior engineers and technicians, and creating project estimates for internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects from concept development through test, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
  • Create project estimates for internal and external customers, taking into account project scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, fabricate, and test mechanical, electrical, and software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, such as CREO, SolidWorks, Catia, and/or NX.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our engineering processes and tools.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Expertise in design, fabrication, and/or testing, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Raytheon engineering processes and tools, as well as traditional fabrication equipment and 3D printing.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • A U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with U.S. citizenship eligible for a security clearance.
