We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication Department, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept development through test, mentoring junior engineers and technicians, and creating project estimates for internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead projects from concept development through test, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
- Create project estimates for internal and external customers, taking into account project scope, resources, and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, fabricate, and test mechanical, electrical, and software solutions.
- Develop and maintain expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, such as CREO, SolidWorks, Catia, and/or NX.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our engineering processes and tools.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Expertise in design, fabrication, and/or testing, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Raytheon engineering processes and tools, as well as traditional fabrication equipment and 3D printing.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with U.S. citizenship eligible for a security clearance.
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Raytheon, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. We offer a competitive salary range of $118,000 - $246,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
