About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Prepare and package individual place settings.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Sweep and scrub floors.
  • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies.
  • Receive and store supplies.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and meet corporate minimum requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Work well independently exercising judgment and initiative, as well as in a team environment with a diverse group of people.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Be able to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environments for long periods of time.
  • Must adhere to local Food Codes.
  • NON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a High School diploma or GED with (1) year of related experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow direction.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food service training, if applicable.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Positive attitude and neat appearance.
  • English preferred as primary language, but not required.
Working Conditions

The working hours are scheduled based on the needs of the facility. PART-TIME ON-CALL scheduling. There is no guarantee of hours on a weekly basis. Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as scheduled.

Maintain a client service-oriented attitude. Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays and can work flexible schedules.
