Job Summary

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants is seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our SASIC team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients impacted by combat in Afghanistan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess client needs and develop service plans to ensure their self-sufficiency.
  • Collaborate with case managers to provide direct services, including housing transitions, crisis support, and advocacy.
  • Update case management systems, reporting databases, and physical files while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work with the case manager and other staff to confirm appropriate services are in place and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate supports to clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual/multilingual ability is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and database programs is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse backgrounds.
  • Dedication to human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people.

Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
