Job Summary

Collin College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management department, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of electrical work across our campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Electrical Work: Oversee the work of electrical journeymen, providing guidance and leadership to ensure efficient completion of projects and adherence to trade standards.
  • Develop and Manage Electrical Systems: Responsible for developing and implementing electrical systems, including material and labor estimates, budgets, and inventory management.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all electrical work is performed in compliance with national, state, and local codes, and that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Lead and Develop Team Members: Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including training and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, including facilities management, maintenance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of electrical work and maintenance projects.
  • Manage and Maintain Electrical Equipment: Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, including HVAC, boilers, controls, valves, and other related systems.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond to emergency calls and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with industry developments, including new technologies and best practices, to ensure that electrical systems are designed and implemented with the latest standards and regulations in mind.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as a licensed journeyman in the electrical trade.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Master Electrician license required.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and develop effective solutions.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
Working Conditions

The Electrical Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to electrical systems, equipment, and tools. The position requires the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions. The Electrical Operations Manager must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
