Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at the University of South Florida. This individual will be responsible for providing high-level care to critically ill infants in our Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

About the Role:

  • Provide ongoing evaluation and management of neonates and infants requiring care in the NICU
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with ancillary staff and family
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and stabilize critically ill neonates under the supervision of attending Neonatologists
  • Document all orders, procedures, and progress notes on patient medical records
  • Perform procedures necessary for neonatal care, including endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, PICC line placement, lumbar punctures, and peripheral arterial lines

Responsibilities:

In addition to clinical responsibilities, this role will also involve teaching and supervising pediatric residents and participating in the education of medical students.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing: ARNP training; Florida License
  • BLS/AED certification required and must be maintained
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience, with at least 2 years evaluating pediatric patients (preferably 2-year experience assessing neonates)
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in a physician's office or clinic, or equivalent experience in an ambulatory healthcare facility

Benefits:

The University of South Florida offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid vacation days, paid sick days, 11 paid holidays, various retirement options, tuition assistance, on-campus childcare options, flexible work program, and other voluntary benefits.
