Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the assessment, planning, and delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. Your primary responsibility will be to provide essential bedside care to patients across all age groups within the established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering patient information for evaluation by an RN or Provider.
- Monitor patients and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests as required.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care and treatment plans.
- Support the orientation of new staff members by sharing knowledge and experiences.
- Maintain accurate and current documentation of patient care.
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals as defined by regulatory standards.
- Perform additional tasks to enhance operational efficiency and quality patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills:
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) is preferred.
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Prior experience in a physician's office is preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program. Must hold a current Ohio License as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
- Supervisory Experience: Not applicable.
