Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
  • Instruct, direct, and schedule patients and visitors.
  • Receive cash payments from patients, issue receipts, and post cash payment data.
  • Manage wait times and ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and document copying.
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
  • Manage medical records, maintain files, and prepare for schedules.
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, process requests for medical records release, and maintain logs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time for coverage at other clinics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with electronic health records.
  • 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience.
  • 1+ years of experience handling and triaging telephone calls and a multi-system phone line.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and as a team, with good judgment and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with healthcare providers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
