About the Role:
Sulzer AG is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our Service Center in the United States. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of our Service Center.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all operational aspects of the Service Center, including capital expense, quality, cost of goods sold, and delivery.
- Supervise Cost Estimation, Project Coordination, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, direct labor staff, Hydraulic Testing, Master Scheduling, and administrative staff.
- Work closely with our established sales network to secure volume levels laid out in the budget and Mid-Range Plan.
- Participate in special studies and analyses as needed.
- Work directly with other Sulzer Service Centers to coordinate the integration of our Global Manufacturing Network in support of cost reduction programs and targets.
- Work directly with our established sales network and Alliance management structure to secure strategic alliances that benefit and support Sulzer's Mid-Range Plan objectives.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in our company-wide safety program, including following all safety policies and procedures.
- Supports and cooperates in our company-wide Total Quality Management (TQM) effort.
- Performs other miscellaneous assignments and research projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Service Center.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Business experience involving operations, planning, finance, and marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- 5-7 years of experience with pumps or similar equipment, preferred.
- Ability to develop and foster a team environment.
