Job Summary:

We are seeking a Part-Time Faculty member to teach in the Sterile Processing field at Anne Arundel Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for classroom and lab instruction, following the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. The instructor will also be required to manage a classroom effectively and have some computer experience. Prior teaching experience is not required, but a desire to share knowledge of the sterile processing field is essential.

Responsibilities:

Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies;
Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control;
Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner;
Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab and clinical environments;
Prepare students to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) exam.

Requirements:

Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) certification is required;
3 years Sterile Processing experience is required;
Prior experience teaching sterile processing is preferred;
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) supervisory experience is preferred.
