Location and Salary
The Manufacturing Supervisor role is based in Shelby Township, MI, United States (US). The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. As an equal opportunities employer, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
Job Summary
The Assembly Department Supervisor will oversee and direct all activities relative to machine assembly, including tryout and de-bug, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery of Fori products. This role involves administrative responsibilities, such as hiring, firing, discipline, merit recognition, and technical development of reporting personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manning Requirements: Determine and execute proper manning requirements for the department(s) based on current and future capacity needs, in conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all department equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition, including spray-painting equipment, overhead cranes, air compressors, general building maintenance, and more.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs of department personnel and work with the Manufacturing Manager to determine the best way to execute those needs.
- Safety Procedures: Execute safety procedures/training as outlined and identified by Fori Automation management, MIOSHA, and OSHA for the Mechanical Assembly area and personnel.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and internal buy-offs of all machinery relative to mechanical function and verify that machines/units are ready for buy-off and that all equipment shipped is of quality construction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Purchasing, Operations, Scheduling, and Electrical/Pneumatic Assembly Supervisor, to ensure effective communication and prioritization of work.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including assembly bays, parking lot, and surrounding areas.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- 2 years previous supervisory experience
- 5 years experience as leader
- 10 years experience as Machine Builder
- Journeyman card/status required
- Associates Degree in Technical field preferred
