Job Overview

The Gaming Cage Cashier plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing all monetary transactions, chips, vouchers, and documentation during their designated shifts. This position is essential in maintaining exceptional service standards for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding service to patrons of Ocean Casino Resort.
  • Perform various tasks including cash checks, sell and redeem gaming chips, process jackpots from slot and table games, manage tournament documentation, and balance cash drawers during shifts.
  • Receive and accurately account for all funds deposited from various departments.
  • Retrieve and store bill validators from the NRT area securely.
  • Operate counting machines by inserting and removing currency; ensure machines are functioning correctly.
  • Initial and date all money straps for accountability.
  • Input necessary data into the computer system.
  • Load bill validators and cassettes into carts and transport them to the gaming floor.
  • Maintain accountability for all issued keys.
  • Remove cassettes and bill validators, ensuring each item is accounted for.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.

Essential Functions

  • Work in a casino environment that may include exposure to secondhand smoke, loud noises, and a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
  • Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry and prolonged viewing of computer screens is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proficient communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain on feet for the duration of the shift.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in cash handling is essential.
  • Strong mathematical abilities are required.
  • Previous experience in banking or accounting is advantageous.
