Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform general cleaning and custodial duties in common areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as dusting and disinfecting surfaces.
- Minor Repairs and Maintenance: Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing light fixtures, unclogging pipes, and performing limited grounds maintenance.
- Restroom and Cafeteria Cleaning: Clean and sanitize restrooms and cafeteria areas, including sinks, toilets, and showers.
- Laundry Services: Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying, and folding linens and clothing.
- Turnover of Housing Units: Clean and prepare housing units for new residents, including dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Safety and Security: Assist in examining the building for safety hazards and report any deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Building Operations, and/or Administrator of the Facility.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with custodial work is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions is essential.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Prolonged periods of standing and ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 60 pounds at a time are required.
Homes for the Homeless, Inc. offers a competitive salary of $35,000, as well as excellent benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, an employee-funded 403(b) retirement plan, commuter benefits, life insurance, and paid time off.
