Job Summary

STERIS is seeking a highly skilled Repair Operations Supervisor to oversee the repair operations in their assigned department/category. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the operational goals of the department, ensuring quality delivery and cost (QDC) objectives are met, and fostering a spirit of empowered work teams and unity among department members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Directs team members in repair order output, timeliness, and quality, effectively utilizing team resources to meet customer service requirements.
  2. Sets and monitors operational and quality performance standards for teams, ensuring SQDCE (Safety, Quality, Deliverables, Cost, and Employee affairs) performance is maintained through monitoring and performance reporting.
  3. Provides technical support or employs required resources to resolve production difficulties and/or restrictions.
  4. Identifies and resolves technical and process shortcomings to improve operational performance, quality, and costs.
  5. Aids in the identification of new product capabilities through monitoring no-repair situations, outsourcing lab volumes, market trends, and new technologies.
  6. Works closely with engineering teams and directors to drive product capability development and operational process standards.
  7. Responsible for assessing team skills and directing team training efforts to ensure technicians are adequately trained and progressing.
  8. Responsible for interviewing potential new hires, administering reviews, communicating corrective actions, and termination processes.
  9. Collaborates with inventory and purchasing teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels and components are maintained.
Requirements
  • 4 years of manufacturing experience or 3 years of work experience in surgical device/instrument repairs, and 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience.
  • In lieu of degree, 8 years of work experience in surgical devices/instrument repairs and 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience.
