Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Identify and curate a comprehensive list of primary competitors for 23andMe, refining this list in alignment with the company's strategic objectives and insights from leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Consumer Insights and Analytics teams to ensure the collection of pertinent longitudinal data regarding these competitors.
  • Engage with our Product team to provide valuable insights into competitors' offerings, guiding our product development and feature enhancements.
  • Develop benchmarking analyses and competitive battlecards.
  • Establish and manage a centralized repository of Competitive Intelligence resources, ensuring a single, well-organized source of information as new business inquiries arise.
  • Gather and synthesize relevant data from various online platforms and databases.
  • Prepare in-depth analyses on companies to assist leadership in addressing strategic inquiries, covering topics such as financial performance, operational models, market positioning, product lines, and partnerships.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and monitor competitor activities, summarizing key insights from significant press releases, earnings calls, and annual reports.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging market trends, developing comprehensive competitive landscape analyses.
  • Contextualize findings for executive leadership and the Board, assisting in the preparation of presentation materials.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in analysis or market research; an MS or MBA is a significant advantage.
  • A strong passion for healthcare technology, genetics, and enhancing the consumer experience.
  • A solid financial acumen, with the ability to assess a company's financial health through the analysis of annual reports, balance sheets, and other financial documents.
  • A methodical approach to information gathering and synthesis, with familiarity in knowledge management tools and experience in creating clear, concise information repositories.
  • The capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to impromptu inquiries promptly.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and data visualization tools; experience with Google Sheets and/or Smartsheets is preferred.
  • The ability to distill complex information into easily digestible and actionable insights; experience in creating infographics is a notable plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, as this role necessitates regular interaction with leaders across the organization.
