Medical Biller Job Description

Cooperative Counseling Services (CCS) is a leading provider of mental health services in New Jersey, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately enter daily charges, generate claims, and submit them electronically or via paper claims weekly.
  • Identify and resolve billing and coding errors promptly, ensuring compliance with payor requirements.
  • Perform daily/weekly uploads to ensure timely payment of claims.
  • Execute downloads and electronic remittance posting to ensure accurate claim processing.
  • Reconcile and post Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments, credit card, and electronic payments.
  • Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports, documenting receipts and escalating problem areas to the Office Manager.
  • Research claims denied, rectify, and resubmit claims promptly.
  • Analyze rejection and denial trends to identify and solve processing issues.
  • Produce daily and weekly financial reports by payor, including claims on hold and denied.
  • Invoice clients weekly/monthly for unpaid copay, deductible, and self-pay balances.
  • Respond to and resolve client account inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of five years' experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Medicaid and commercial insurance billing, collections, and payroll processing.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and eagerness to learn.
