Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electronic components to optimize photonic systems.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create, integrate, and evaluate hybrid electronic and photonic prototypes.
  • Conduct mixed-signal circuit design, including microcontroller programming and FPGA implementation.
  • Focus on applications related to microwave photonics, atomic systems, and advanced sensing technologies.
  • Develop prototypes for standalone applications or for integration into comprehensive system architectures.
  • Participate in research initiatives aimed at designing integrated electronic and photonic circuits, and enhancing microwave photonic processing using high-speed ADCs, FPGAs, and ASICs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Expertise in the design of mixed-signal embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in circuit design software, such as Eagle or Altium.
  • A self-driven approach with strong communication abilities.
  • A solid work ethic and commitment to integrity.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • The capability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Skills

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Experience programming microcontrollers, FPGAs, or ASICs.
  • An understanding of feedback control systems.
  • Knowledge of RF components and principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with photonic components, including lasers, modulators, and detectors.
  • A Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 2+ years of experience.
