About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Homesteaders Life Company. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and insightful data reporting to enable our company's functional teams to make informed decisions that drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide data and reports to internal and external customers that showcase historical results, metrics, and trends, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Accurately interpret data and produce clear, comprehensive written analyses, dashboards, graphs, and tables for various audiences.
  • Set up, maintain, and continuously improve data and reporting capabilities for departments, functions, and initiatives.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Program/Project Managers and functional area leaders/stakeholders to progress current strategies and strategic opportunities.
  • Analyze new data or report requests, ensuring appropriate identification and resolution of the request, completing those within scope, and communicating the results.
  • Generate, analyze, and summarize sales and in-force data, relaying emerging trends in business.
  • Deliver reports and make presentations in support of quarterly account results, company reporting, strategy execution, and achievement of goals.
  • Develop and execute plans, both test and actual, help define success metrics and criteria, coordinate data collection, analyze results, and report outcomes for initiatives.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study, such as data analytics, marketing research, or business with an emphasis in information management.
  • 5 years of data analysis experience.
  • Strong relational database knowledge with the ability to create intermediate-level SQL queries.
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint to visualize data and make it easy to understand.
  • Experience with a variety of data analysis and reporting software, including Python and PowerBI.
  • Experience in business process and needs analysis preferred.
  • Experience querying a data warehouse, data mart, or reporting data store preferred.
