Patient Meal Service Specialist

Job Summary
The Catering Associate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient meal service on assigned units. This includes menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special requests and needs, and in-between meal food delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal communication skills, be able to interact with patients and staff congenially, and possess basic computer skills. Food Service experience in a healthcare environment is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, and delivery.
- Communicate with patients and staff to address food issues and concerns.
- Interact with Nursing to ensure patient nutrition needs are met.
- Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, or require intake recording.
- React accurately and effectively to changes to ensure efficient timing of services.
Requirements
- Strong verbal communication, reading, and writing abilities.
- Ability to interact with patients and staff congenially.
- Basic computer skills, which may be obtained through on-the-job training.
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
- Food Service experience in a healthcare environment is desirable.
- High School diploma/GED strongly preferred.
