Position Overview:

The Senior Buyer for Ingredients plays a crucial role in ensuring timely, efficient, and ethical procurement processes while maintaining cost-effectiveness in purchasing ingredients and services as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory management for ingredients within the Senior Buyer domain, collaborating with various departments to maintain optimal inventory levels and manage obsolete stock effectively.
  • Execute purchase orders and follow up diligently to guarantee quality and timely deliveries.
  • Engage in sourcing and negotiation activities for ingredients, ensuring a consistent supply and competitive pricing under the guidance of the Senior Director of Procurement. Work closely with other departments on sourcing new ingredients, developing new products, and handling sample requests.
  • Monitor and report on industry pricing trends and competitive landscapes to senior management.
  • Ensure that vendor contracts are well-documented and align with corporate objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant business field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in ingredient procurement is essential.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to engage in quality planning and collaborate effectively with other departments is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
