We are currently seeking an Early Interventionist to join our dynamic team in the Midlands/Columbia/Lexington area of South Carolina. As an Early Interventionist with About Play, you will have the opportunity to work with families and children in their natural environment, providing family-centered early intervention services that promote child development and support family functioning.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family & Consumer Science, or any related field, plus 1 year of documented experience working with children birth to six years old. Prior early interventionist experience is preferred, but not required. We also welcome recent and upcoming college graduates with a degree in a related field and a willingness for on-the-job training.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $40,000 per year, plus travel mileage reimbursement at .45 per mile up to a $565 reimbursable monthly cap. With mileage reimbursement, the total compensation package could be up to $46,780 annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide family-centered early intervention services to families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Perform Family Training with the caregiver and child in their home, daycare or natural environment setting.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the development of the child.
  • Monitor the progress of the child and family.
