Position Overview


This role is responsible for developing and executing individualized and group interventions focusing on reentry programming. This includes, but is not limited to, areas such as Domestic Violence, Employment, Anger Management, and Cognitive Behavioral Programming.

The specialist will perform assessments utilizing evidence-based evaluation tools, implement case management and treatment strategies, and deliver primary programming based on proven methodologies.

The specialist will also create and execute therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing the success of Persons In Our Care (PIOC) in fulfilling program requirements.

Compensation Details

This position falls within pay schedule and range 12-64, offering a starting salary between $27.02/hour and $33.33/hour.

Current state employees may have variations in pay based on the applicable provisions of the Compensation Plan.

A twelve-month probationary period is mandatory.


New candidates without prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the last five years may qualify for a sign-on bonus of $2,000, distributed as $1,000 on the first paycheck and $1,000 after achieving permanent status.

To qualify for the bonus, candidates must commit to a one-year tenure in the position; early departure may necessitate reimbursement of the initial payment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screenings, and any candidate offered a position requiring such a screen must pass it as a condition of employment.

Criminal background checks will be performed on applicants prior to selection, and all new employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications


This position necessitates experience, training, and knowledge in:

  • Administering and interpreting assessment tools
  • Communicating complex information both verbally and in writing
  • Documenting and producing reports
  • Delivering evidence-based social service programming
  • Facilitating both group and individual counseling sessions
  • Investigative techniques and problem-solving
  • Research and application of evidence-based cognitive behavioral methods
  • Treatment strategies addressing criminogenic needs
  • Proficiency in database and office software (e.g., MS Office)
