Job Summary

As a Behavior Intervention Technician I, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide behavioral support and interventions to students, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with special needs.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions to ensure effective communication and collaboration with teachers and staff.
  • Assist in planning programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and discipline students according to approved policies and procedures, promoting a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination at the level appropriate to the job classification and the Basic Autism and Behavioral Needs District Assessment.
  • Knowledge of principles of child guidance, child development, instructional process, and behavior modification/intervention with special education needs.
  • Basic knowledge of Autism and other related disabilities.
  • Correct usage of English, reading, grammar, composition, and vocabulary.
  • Arithmetic, mathematics, and related calculations.
