About the Role:

Altru Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Regional Health Specialist. This dynamic role requires someone who can effectively evaluate and treat patients, while also collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient-centered care plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Orient patients, family members, and other relevant parties to the purpose and procedures of therapy evaluations and treatments.
  • Select and perform evaluation and treatment methods that align with patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders.
  • Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes, initiating new programs as needed.
  • Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions according to standard operating procedure.
  • Document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care.
  • Participate in the development and accurate documentation of discharge plans with the inter-disciplinary team.
  • Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate actions, as evidenced in reporting, staffing consultations, and documentation.
  • Clinical supervision will be provided to occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) in a collaborative manner following state licensure and care delivery standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in North Dakota or Minnesota
  • Possession of a National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification is preferred
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of start date

Work Environment:

This role involves frequent standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, reaching, crawling, squatting/crouching/kneeling, twisting, handling/finger/feeling, seeing, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds from floor to waist level, carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, push/pull objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and slide/transfer objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $33,800 and $50,690, based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
