Requirements:

Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and one year of professional level social work experience in a social service agency or hospital setting
Valid State of Nevada License as a Social Worker
5 years of Acute care experience as a Social Worker

Knowledge and Skills:

Principles, practices, and techniques of social work, health, and welfare
Federal, state, and county regulations governing area of responsibility
Local, state, and Federal social welfare and assistance programs
Community resources, medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatments
Counseling techniques, assessment, and interviewing techniques

Working Conditions:

Mobility to work in a typical office setting, including stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
Vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen
Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
