Role Overview

AECOM is looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineering Project Manager to be based in Denver, Colorado.

This role involves leading and supporting projects for water and wastewater clients, primarily in the Denver region, while also engaging in national initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and preparing documentation related to water and wastewater infrastructure, which encompasses water distribution systems, sewage collection networks, pump stations, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, and treatment facilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight to design teams for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
  • Identify new business opportunities and engage in project presentations to clients, showcasing AECOM's capabilities.
  • Participate in project evaluations, consultant selections, and the preparation of qualification statements.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, drafting professional service agreements for management review.
  • Direct project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms and monitor subcontractor adherence to commitments.
  • Develop project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets, communicating these effectively to team members.
  • Supervise technical professionals and manage workload and staffing as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on the financial status of projects to technical managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field, along with eight (8) years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. A Professional Engineering (PE) license in Colorado is required, or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with municipal projects and familiarity with software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD is advantageous. Proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction and public speaking, are essential, along with strong project financial management capabilities.
