Job Summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services Team. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 3rd party make ready design and analysis, potentially working on capital/reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)
  • Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team, playing a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projects
  • Review engineering design packages with clients, review and organize existing program work, perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
  • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities, interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met
  • Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working with third party make ready engineering projects either in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution, or additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific degree
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), experience with engineering design quality control, familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis
  • Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)
  • Willingness to perform both field and office work, ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion, the role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous QAQC experience, experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC
  • Demonstrated history of Customer Interaction, proven experience and proficiency with STORMS software and GIS is preferred, prior Leadership experience is preferred

Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
