Why You'll Appreciate This Role
This position is part of the Network Tools and Assessment Team within the Information Technology Division.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify significant security vulnerabilities in the organization's applications and data. This role will facilitate effective remediation of insecure applications and systems, thereby enhancing security measures and reducing the likelihood of data breaches.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize Static and Dynamic Analysis tools to conduct extensive testing and identify vulnerabilities.
- Assess applications for security weaknesses through techniques such as fuzzing, access/authorization bypass, business logic exploitation, and intentional fault injection.
- Analyze application architectures and implementation details to identify design flaws, improper security implementations, and absent security controls.
- Collaborate with fellow security team members to investigate and address complex security challenges.
- Consult with Software Engineers, Infrastructure Architects, and Security Architects to rectify application, architectural, or environmental vulnerabilities.
- Validate submissions from external security researchers participating in bug bounty programs.
- Work closely with service providers and external security resources to coordinate, monitor, and manage security testing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain threat models to effectively communicate risks to engineers, project managers, and other technical personnel.
- Ensure applications are developed in accordance with enterprise security standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to review application source code for security and operational risks.
- Conduct manual code reviews for applications that do not support automated Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools.
- Provide comprehensive security documentation to developers, software engineers, and technical staff as needed.
- Offer guidance and recommendations to software architects and engineers on rectifying code-related security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in peer reviews of security assessments conducted by team members.
- Uphold the enterprise Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) standard.

Qualifications for Success
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience/training.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a frontend or backend software developer.
- Experience working as a developer in a team of five or more software developers.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one compiled programming language.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one interpreted programming language.
- Ability to draft software specifications.
- Capability to conduct independent research.
- Broad understanding of web service implementation paradigms (REST, SOAP).
- Familiarity with OWASP and the SANS Top 25.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert-level knowledge of static analysis tools and methodologies.
- Expert-level knowledge of dynamic analysis tools and methodologies.
- Advanced understanding of software engineering principles, including design principles and methodologies (Scrum, XP, Lean, Waterfall).
- Strong comprehension of common cryptographic algorithms and libraries.
- Experience in mobile application development for Android or iOS.
- 2+ years of experience as a full-stack software developer.
- 1+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Basic understanding of cryptographic concepts: hashing, signing, symmetric/asymmetric encryption and decryption.
- Basic understanding of network security concepts: DOS, DNS Spoofing, ARP Poisoning, Reverse Shells, Firewalls.
- Basic understanding of defensive programming and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with common application exploits: XSS, SQL Injection, UI Redressing, Directory Browsing, Log Forging.
- Basic understanding of microservice application architecture, software cohesion, and software coupling.
- Willingness to learn new programming languages as necessary for code reviews.
- Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Git, SoapUI, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, FindBugs, Docker, and Coverity.
