Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Homecare Dimensions in Corpus Christi. As a LPN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following the plan of care and implementing treatments as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act and agency's policies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including following the plan of care and implementing treatments
  • Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and plan of care
  • Participate in the coordination of home health services, reporting identified needs for other disciplines to the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor
  • Follow all infection control standard precautions and safety guidelines/standards as per agency policy
  • Use equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently
  • Participate in personal and professional growth and development
  • Adhere to the Agency's Standard Operating Procedures as it relates to the submission of documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of Texas as a practical nurse or licensed vocational nurse
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • 2+ years clinical experience preferable in a community home health or medical/surgical setting
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client and/or patient sites within a designated area
  • Demonstrated ability to lift and transfer patients
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
  • Ability to push/pull heavy objects using up to fifty pounds of force
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex situations
