As a Systems Engineer specializing in satellite communications (SATCOM), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the analysis, design, and development of DoD SATCOM capabilities. Your responsibilities will include not only evaluating and developing these systems but also enhancing them with cutting-edge technological advancements. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in areas such as the future of SATCOM usage within the Department, including narrowband and commercial SATCOM, 5G technologies, and international coordination efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough technical requirement analysis and propose viable solution alternatives.
- Utilize your knowledge of satellite communications and mobile wireless networks, including 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
- Provide strategic technical recommendations to Department of Defense clients and program managers.
- Prepare analytical, architectural, and engineering documentation, including white papers and executive summaries.
- Effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences through various formats.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience with specialized satellite communications systems.
- Experience in digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Familiarity with DoD SATCOM policies and acquisition processes.
- Master's degree in a relevant technology field.
