Position Overview:
The Healthcare Assistant plays a vital role within our team, collaborating closely with primary care physicians to provide exceptional patient care to our community, ensuring that services are delivered within the Medical Assisting scope and state regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing examination rooms for patient visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming patients and the community with respect.
- Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming appointments, ensuring all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and medical records are accurate and current.
- Measure vital signs, including pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Perform clerical duties related to departmental operations, such as managing inventory, tracking supplies, processing referrals, and answering phone calls as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days of hire).
Experience:
- One year of experience as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting (preferred, not mandatory).
- Two years of clerical experience in a medical office (preferred, not mandatory).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving abilities, basic computer proficiency, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
