Job Overview

Position Summary: The Inventory Management Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing the activities of personnel involved in the inventory management of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and components within a storage facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes the layout of storage areas, including warehouses and stockrooms, taking into account factors such as turnover rates, dimensions, weight, and other relevant characteristics of stored items.
  • Analyzes inventory records and suggests corrective measures for items identified as non-usable, slow-moving, or in excess.
  • Ensures the accuracy of inventory records and adherence to established protocols, assessing the sufficiency of stock levels.
  • Plans and coordinates schedules for special and routine inventory counts.
  • Compiles comprehensive reports based on the individual submissions from Inventory Specialists.
  • Investigates discrepancies between inventory counts and stock control records, recommending solutions to address these issues.
  • Provides written and verbal instructions to team members, facilitating efficient workflow.
  • Delegates tasks and evaluates work for precision, organization, and compliance with company policies.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Additional Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in drafting routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capable of physically counting items stored on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Utilizes computer systems to accurately manage inventory transactions, returns, and related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or training in Inventory Management.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts and cherry pickers/high lifts.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Synapse.
  • Solid understanding of Inventory Management practices, including KPI reporting and Cycle Count program coordination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Competence in writing reports and correspondence.
  • Physical capability to count items on shelves, racks, and pallets.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
