Job Summary:
The Inpatient Certified Pharmacy Technician will provide daily supportive services for the Department of Pharmacy, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as Kentucky pharmacy laws and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with filling, processing, and dispensing of medications, including labeling and bagging procedures.
- Answer phones according to established phone etiquette and triage calls to the proper personnel.
- Charge and/or credit patients for medications used via the computer system.
- Accurately and efficiently unit dose medications, including cleaning the compounding area and restocking supplies.
- Prepare medications for loading into the ADC and unload medications from the ADC using bar code scanning.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Registered as a pharmacy technician with the Commonwealth of Kentucky
- PTCB national certification or NHA
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of pharmacy technician experience
