As a Clinical Pharmacist at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper, you will be part of a dynamic team that works together to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote optimal health.

Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist serves as a key member of the healthcare team, collaborating with colleagues to provide optimal medication management and promote medication safety. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient assessments and monitoring therapy for appropriateness, dosage, effectiveness, interactions, and adverse drug reactions.
  • Participating in direct patient care activities and rounding opportunities.
  • Ensuring timely and consistent communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Maintaining up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge required for services provided.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Current Pharmacist licensure in the state of Virginia, completed within 30 days of start date.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other applicable certification, obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider ACLS certification, obtained within six months of hire.

  • Ability to work as part of a high-performing, change-ready, and resilient team.
  • Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
Physical Demands

This role requires frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, and bending/stooping. You will also need to be proficient in communicative, auditory, and visual skills, with attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
