Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Hospice is tasked with delivering high-quality patient care and executing skilled nursing procedures in the comfort of patients' homes.
- Provides skilled nursing care under the guidance of a registered nurse on a daily basis.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to state regulations.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses in executing specialized medical procedures as necessary.
- Supports patients with daily living activities and promotes self-care practices.
- Communicates significant changes in patients' conditions to physicians and relevant personnel as needed.
- Performs advanced wound care when trained and documented for specific procedures.
- Follows physician orders within the scope of LPN practice and hospice standards, without modifying the care plan.
Educational Background: Associate Degree or equivalent certification
Licensure and Certification Requirements: Yes
Licensure Details
- Must hold an unrestricted license in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to reliable transportation.
- LA: A minimum of two years of full-time experience as an LPN is required.
