Electrophysiology Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Technician to join our team at Siemens Healthineers. As an EP Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting cardiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in EP procedures, including preparing and positioning patients for electrophysiology studies and ablations.
  • Operate and maintain electrophysiology equipment, including electroanatomical mapping systems, defibrillators, and ablation generators.
  • Monitor patient vitals and ECG signals throughout the procedure.
  • Administer medications and contrast agents as directed.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Electrophysiology (RCES), Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS), or American Registered Radiology Technology (ARRT).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an EP lab or cardiac catheterization lab.
  • Hands-on experience with EP lab equipment and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a hospital or specialized cardiac care facility.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and radiation; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as moving patients and equipment.
