Job Summary:

Albany Med is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to join our team in the Department of Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and other extracorporeal circulation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate bypass records and preparing annual reports.
  • Attend lectures, conferences, departmental meetings, and have regular meetings with the Chairman, Dept. of Anesthesiology, and the Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Conduct product evaluations to remain current with product changes and product usage.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of cardiopulmonary bypass and extracorporeal circulation techniques.
  • Ensure that access to information is based on a 'need to know' and is the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
  • Maintain a constant update of administrative procedures, perfusion library, and scientific paper library.
  • Perform duties related to cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, autotransfusion, and related duties.
  • Provide expert care to patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and other extracorporeal circulation procedures.
  • Relate information to other perfusionists and others as applicable.
  • Use or disclosure shall not exceed the minimum amount of information needed to accomplish an intended purpose.

Requirements:

  • Certified by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Minimum experience of one year.
