Human Factors Design Specialist

We are seeking a talented Human Factors Design Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human-centered design and experience working on civil aircraft projects.
This role will involve providing technical leadership in human factors design, analysis, and certification, with a focus on creating safe and user-friendly designs for our aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Human Factors Design and Analysis
Define, validate, verify, evaluate, and certify the human factors aspects of the aircraft.
This includes ensuring that all users, including pilots, passengers, and maintenance personnel, have a safe and efficient interaction with the aircraft.
Design Definition and EvaluationDevelop and implement human factors design definitions using hand sketches, PowerPoint, or other software.
Work with CAD modelers to implement these designs and evaluate their effectiveness using techniques such as task analyses, human error analyses, desktop reviews, and CAD evaluations.
Regulatory ComplianceSupport the development and implementation of compliance documents, including IPs, CRIs, analyses, test plans, test conduct, and test reports.
Ensure that all human factors aspects of the aircraft meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Team CollaborationWork closely with multi-disciplinary teams to discuss human factors aspects of the aircraft.
Contribute to the development of a Human Factors Resource Loaded Plan, which outlines tasks, timelines, and resources required for human factors design and analysis.
Requirements- Education and Experience
A degree in human factors or a related field, or a combination of a degree in engineering and experience in human factors.
Experience in human factors related to civil aircraft is preferred, but experience in military aircraft or automotive is also relevant.
Skills and AbilitiesFamiliarity with user interface software, modeling software, test plans, and statistical analyses software.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions- Physical Demands
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
May be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions.
Environmental FactorsWork in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
Effectively communicate in Business English language.
