Your Impact and Key Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW: This role involves significant guest interaction and serves as the initial point of contact for our guests. You will uphold high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the hotel, ensuring all areas are free from safety hazards while performing tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
  • Cleaning assigned guest rooms to meet the hotel's established cleanliness standards and replenishing necessary supplies.
  • Vacuuming carpets and cleaning windows.
  • Ensuring housekeeping carts are clean and stocked with cleaning and room supplies.
  • Completing assignment sheets and reporting maintenance issues to a supervisor.
This industry operates seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in the hospitality industry in a similar role.
  • Previous training in guest/customer relations is preferred.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.
  • Capability to push/pull carts and other equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to perform various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to stand and maintain mobility for up to 8 hours at a time and be willing to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and equipment usage.
  • Understanding of proper chemical handling.
  • Ability to reach above head and shoulder height to perform job duties.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Wear proper uniform with nametag and non-slip, closed-toe, flat shoes.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times and work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages, and promotions.
  • Be familiar with local attractions/activities to accurately respond to guest inquiries.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, using it only as intended.
  • Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Complete daily reports as instructed by a supervisor.
  • With guidance, clean a standard guest room within 26 minutes while meeting hotel cleaning standards.
  • Make beds daily with clean linens.
  • Vacuum and spot clean carpets daily.
  • Turn in lost and found items immediately to the supervisor.
  • Keep housekeeping carts stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Stock the linen room with supplies.
  • Empty linen from housekeeping carts.
  • Sweep and mop areas in front of elevators; clean all trash cans and elevator tracks.
  • Maintain pool areas, cleaning pool windows and bathrooms daily.
  • Clean ice and soda machines on all floors.
  • Dust light fixtures in hallways.
  • Remove all dirty linen from laundry chutes and hallways.
  • Provide assistance to co-workers and guests as needed.
  • Notify supervisor of any guest complaints or comments.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist in handling emergencies to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during emergencies.
  • Responsible for knowing and adhering to all department, hotel policies, and procedures.
