Overview:
This position involves utilizing medical ultrasound technology to assist patients as per physician directives, adhering to the standards set by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Guided by the Radiology Medical Director, the professional must be well-versed in patient evaluation and treatment protocols as defined by institutional policies.
The role includes providing essential patient assessment data to the Radiologist when necessary. The technologist is expected to be certified in Basic Life Support and provide assistance when required. Additionally, the position entails meticulous documentation of procedural details in the patient's medical records, including PACS. Effective communication and behavior must align with the core values and mission of Christus Health.Key Responsibilities:

Conducts a range of high-quality ultrasound examinations with minimal oversight, employing diagnostic imaging equipment.
Records calibration activities for imaging devices.
Organizes, plans, and makes swift decisions regarding urgent cases; assesses and acts to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Assists the Radiologist in executing invasive biopsy procedures using ultrasound technology to accurately identify anatomical locations of diseased areas for specimen collection and diagnosis.
Ensures all procedures are billed accurately and submits all charges at the end of the day for proper billing.
Maintains the ultrasound room's supplies, checks the readiness of equipment and computer systems, reports any issues that could disrupt workflow, and ensures corrective measures are implemented to maintain operational continuity.
Must be capable of performing all tasks as outlined, including any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor or manager on duty.
Demonstrates the ability to fulfill assigned patient care duties in a manner that addresses the specific and developmental needs of the patient population served by the department. Appropriately modifies patient assessments to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each patient.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program or an equivalent qualification required.
Minimum of one year of experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound preferred.
ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year.
LRST/ARRT Radiologic Technology License preferred.
Certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred.
Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
