Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Human Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing the systems required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating a safe and habitable environment for humans in our space station.

Responsibilities
  • Own the full product development lifecycle of mechanical spacecraft systems from concept through production.
  • Gather requirements, study trade-offs, and define detailed specifications for mechanical components.
  • Create DFMEA, statement of work, product specification, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform analysis on designs including hand calculations, FEA, and CAD.
  • Execute design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics.
  • 5+ years' experience with CAD & FEA packages.
  • 5+ years' experience leading design and development of mechanical components or systems.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience in human interface design.
  • Experience in the aerospace, maritime, automotive, medical, or mining industries.
  • Proficiency in standard manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with electromechanical systems.
