About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Avionics Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our Avionics Team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and integrating mechanical products within the Terran R avionics system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical products, including electronics enclosures, vibration isolation, thermal management, and environmental protection devices.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to design robust, high-performance printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Perform preliminary sizing for static and dynamic loads and thermal environments.
  • Utilize 3D modeling and 2D drafting packages to deliver detailed designs with considerations for production and test.
  • Validate designs for flight through rapid prototyping, analysis, and test campaigns.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in avionics systems. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a full-cycle mechanical design engineering role.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Experience with structural and thermal analysis.
  • Demonstrated project ownership and accountability with complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects.

Hiring Range: $130,000-$166,000 USD
