Lunar Lander Structures Supervisor

As part of a hardworking team, you will build human-rated Lunar Landers able to land on the moon in support of the MK1 and MK2 Lunar Lander Program.

This is a boots-on-the-ground, hands-on-hardware, assembly technician Supervisor role.

We are building a road to space, and a rocket that approximates the size of the Saturn V.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
  • Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and other ground support equipment as required.
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions, such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD.

Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.
  • Basic computer skills, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
  • A&P License.
  • Prior Military.
  • Space TEC Certified.
  • Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience in fluids installs and testing, tubing, valves, hoses, etc.
  • Experience in instrumentation and electrical components and test.
  • Avionics assemblies build and checkout.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.
  • Clean Room Experience.
  • ESD awareness.
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.
  • Experience in assembling large, tight-tolerance structural items.
  • Precision Hand Drilling.
  • Power feed Drill Motors.
  • Structural Sealants, Primers, and Paints.
