Candidates should possess excellent communication abilities and demonstrate self-motivation.
The physical demands and work environment reflect a typical sawmill setting, where employees may encounter moving mechanical components. Noise levels can vary from moderate to high depending on the specific area.

While executing job responsibilities, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands to handle or feel objects, as attention to minor imperfections is necessary.

Manual dexterity is required for tool handling and controls; candidates must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, maintain balance, and perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Effective communication and hearing are also essential.

Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception. The ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 75 pounds is necessary. Candidates must be physically capable of fulfilling all these responsibilities.
Experience in fitting or as a Benchman is preferred, although training may be provided for individuals with relevant experience.

Relevant experience may include prior roles in sawmill production, work in industrial tool rooms (such as machine shops), fabrication environments, or other industrial labor settings.

Consistent attendance and a strong job history are crucial.
