CBTS is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Viptela SD-WAN to join our team. This is a 6-month contract with potential renewals, requiring the successful candidate to work on-site 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:- Network Design and Implementation: Oversee and implement switch provisioning (configuration) and implementation across multiple sites, including coordinating cutover logistics and change management.
- Network Monitoring: Establish network monitoring for newly installed and replaced equipment.
- SD-WAN Support: Support and operate Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites.
- Network Equipment Support: Support and maintain network equipment and configuration (routers and routing).
- LAN/WAN Routing: Manage the LAN/WAN routing protocol between the routers and perform port management, network capacity management (including planning and trending).
- Switch and Router Provisioning: Provision and configuring switches and routers.
- Network Orchestration: Utilize and implement network orchestration tools and techniques to facilitate automated and consistent configurations, management, testing, deployment, and operations of physical and virtual devices within the network.
- Network Performance Management: Manage status, errors, and inbound and outbound traffic statistics of all routing interfaces, bandwidth utilization, and errors of all inbound and outbound LAN/WAN circuits.
- Technical Decision Making: Makes technical decisions on kinds of data to be gathered and methods to be used in data collection and analysis.
- Technical Guidance: Provides technical direction, guidance, and assistance to assigned projects, suggesting efficient approaches and methods for solving problems.
- Problem Solving: Analyzes, diagnoses, and recommends solutions to complex problems.
- Documentation: Generates / updates network documentation in coordination with the onsite installation resources.
- Knowledge Base: Produce knowledge base articles and SOPs.
- Operations Tasks: Performing operations tasks such as monitoring application performance over time or troubleshooting issues with production applications.
- Network Performance Monitoring: Monitoring network performance to ensure that the platform can handle increased traffic from new applications or services.
- Code Review: Reviewing code written by other engineers to ensure it meets standards for quality, security, and performance.
- Data Analysis: Consuming and analyzing large amounts of data to identify patterns and make predictions about future trends.
- Issue Escalation: Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
- Certification: Candidate must have at minimum Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
- Experience: Candidates need to have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience installing, configuring and administrating Cisco Core and edge Routers and Switches, SD-Wan (Viptela) equipment, Cisco Firewalls and Wireless APs.
- Network Architecture: Design network architecture for Software Design Access / Software Defined Networks, utilizing Cisco Catalyst Center (Formerly DNA Center).
- Technologies: Familiarity with the following technologies: ServiceNow, Network Monitoring Systems (SolarWinds), Cisco Prime, LAN/WAN protocols, SD-Wan (Viptela), Core (DCLan) R/S, Edge (WAN-FW), Wireless Aps.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Slack, and ServiceNow.
