Job Overview

The role of the Lead Packaging Technician is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our packaging operations. This position requires a dedicated individual who can manage inventory effectively and ensure the smooth functioning of the packaging line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify and maintain the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Utilize SAP and other software tools for inventory management and transfer requests.
  • Prepare and organize materials for the packaging line to optimize workflow.
  • Manage waste disposal in compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee the transfer of finished goods and packaging materials in and out of the warehouse.
  • Assist on the packaging line as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Operate high-reach equipment, pallet jacks, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Facilitate transfers to and from external warehouses as required.
  • Ensure accurate measurements of line flush drum weights and coordinate necessary transfers to production.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Finished Goods warehouse and Packaging area.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by the Packaging Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader.
  • Possess specific vision capabilities necessary for the role, including close and distance vision.
  • Maintain a clean disciplinary record for the past year.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in packaging or warehouse operations.
  • Prior experience in inventory control is preferred.
  • Certification or experience in forklift operation is necessary.
  • Familiarity with SAP and its applications in inventory management.
  • Understanding of packaging regulations and their implementation.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules and operational manuals.
  • Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment as required.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
