Aircraft Mechanic III Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic III to join our team at Kay and Associates, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
  • Supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations.
  • Perform diagnosis and corrective actions, disassemble, inspect, evaluate, and accomplish necessary repairs.
  • Lay out work according to technical instructions and technical directives.
  • Determine what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required.
  • Verify work performed by another for which you are qualified to perform.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of B-1 maintenance experience.
  • Basic Corrosion Control Course.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift required.
  • Ability to work flexible work week if required.
  • Ability to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to handle small parts.
  • Ability to deploy to support off-station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain APU and/or Engine run Certification within the first 150 days of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a flight line competency Drivers Certification within 30 workdays of employment.
  • Ability to complete screening through Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance which shall be required of employees.
  • Ability to be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Organizational, Intermediate, and/or Depot level maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years previously certified Aircraft Safe for Flight.
  • Experience in Aircraft, Engine, ALSS, Egress, Armament, and Support Equipment Logbooks and Records entries.
  • Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish.
