Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our metal fabrication team at Turner Construction. As a Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication shop operations, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Lead and supervise a team of fabrication shop employees to complete work efficiently and effectively.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Project Management
    • Oversee and make decisions related to fabrication shop work, including performance, logistics, organization, plant layout, equipment, quality control, and workforce utilization.
    • Collaborate with project team leaders to schedule and expedite material and equipment deliveries.
  • Quality Control and Safety
    • Validate materials and quantities provided by subcontractors or suppliers.
    • Coordinate shop hold and inspection activities.
    • Ensure compliance with Turner's safety protocols and regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with project team members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Quality Control teams to maintain a safe and high-quality work environment.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in metal fabrication required.
    • Minimum of 1 year of foreman, team lead, or supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
    • Proficient knowledge of Environmental Health Safety (EH&S) processes and regulations.
