Overview
As a Geotechnical Engineer within the Geotechnical division at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will take charge of subsurface investigations pertinent to site civil work, including but not limited to building foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, landslide assessments, and pavement evaluations. Your role will encompass the coordination and oversight of subsurface drilling operations, the collection of soil and rock samples, the preparation of boring logs, the formulation of laboratory testing protocols, the interpretation of laboratory results, the execution of geotechnical analyses, and the compilation of comprehensive geotechnical reports. The projects you will engage with primarily serve commercial, retail, institutional, energy, and industrial sectors. Additionally, your responsibilities will extend to construction materials testing, covering concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement assessments.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred);
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in consulting Geotechnical Engineering;
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills;
- A highly motivated self-starter eager to learn and achieve professional success;
- E.I.T. or P.E. certification is strongly preferred.
