Inpatient Psychiatrist

CarePoint Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team at Bayonne Medical Center's newly approved inpatient unit. This role offers opportunities for directorship and teaching. Our hospital community is supportive and collaborative.

• Evaluate patients using various methods, including interviewing patients, their families, or other individuals.
• Develop treatment plans tailored to patients' needs and the extent of their emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorders.
• Treat patients using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication and adjusting treatment as necessary.
• Consult with patients' Primary Care Physicians, Nurses, or other healthcare providers.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Maintain accurate patient and clinical records, including treatment and medication administered.
• Stay up-to-date with professional knowledge by reading publications, attending educational conferences, or maintaining professional networks.
• Adhere to ethical and legal policies, procedures, and standards.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A MD degree from an accredited school.
• Completion of a psychiatry residency.
• A state license or the ability to obtain a NJ license and certification.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with eClinicalWorks and/or Meditech is preferred.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Openness to teaching opportunities.
